Shield AI validates 189 satellite commands in orbit
Shield AI’s Hivemind pilot ran onboard a NOVI satellite for the first time and, with Sedaro’s SAFE framework, executed 189 Hivemind-generated and SAFE-approved commands during a 24-hour experiment, according to the companies’ announcement. The six-satellite test balanced imaging tasks, spacecraft health, battery state and pointing; a second experiment increased Iridium contact initiation by 8 percentage points. Space operators should file this as evidence that validation layers can move autonomy onto existing satellites, alongside the archive’s governance test for autonomous agents, not as proof that unsupervised mission control is solved.
