A humanoid robot beats Bolt's 100-meter record

Tiangong Ultra, built by Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, ran 100 meters in 9.39 seconds, beating Usain Bolt’s 9.58-second record, while 2,056 robots from 16 countries competed at Beijing’s World Humanoid Robot Games, according to The Verge’s report. The same robot also ran 400 meters in 38.16 seconds, ahead of the human record, although videos show several competitors crashing into safety barriers after their runs. Robotics teams should file the result as a control-and-actuation spectacle, not a deployment benchmark, beside the archive’s factory-floor evidence for humanoid reliability.
