Australia bars fully AI-made songs from charts

Australia’s ARIA Charts will exclude wholly AI-generated tracks from the chart dated August 31, while recordings using generative AI in a supporting role remain eligible if they are substantially human-made and raise no manipulation concerns, according to ARIA’s updated eligibility rules. ARIA can reject a release, remove it prospectively or retrospectively, adjust chart positions, withdraw accreditations, or revoke a #1 award. Creative-AI distributors should preserve human-contribution and licensing evidence at upload, because chart eligibility is becoming a provenance control rather than a post-release debate, extending the archive’s analysis of AI music’s consumer economics.
