ChatGPT Work reaches 20M users
OpenAI’s joint ChatGPT Work and Codex app has reached 20 million users, compared with more than 1 billion people who prompt ChatGPT online, according to TechCrunch’s account of OpenAI’s agent push. The same report says ChatGPT Work launched at $20 per month, while an OpenAI-backed study found only 17% of organizational subscribers and less than 1% of individual subscribers were using Codex in June. For teams deciding whether an agent needs another seat or a redesigned workflow, the gap says to measure completed tasks and permission friction before scaling, as the archive’s study of multi-agent coordination does for agent work.
