Emerald AI raises $150M for flexible data centers

Emerald AI raised $150 million in Series A funding at a $1.05 billion valuation to turn AI data centers into flexible grid assets, the company says in its funding announcement. Its software dynamically adjusts compute demand when the grid is stressed, and Emerald says the approach could unlock up to 100 gigawatts of existing U.S. grid capacity for AI. Builders planning large clusters should file the round alongside the archive’s calculation of AI infrastructure’s $40 million-per-megawatt price: flexibility is becoming a second route to power, next to building more generation.
