Ox Alpha turns out to be Z.ai’s GLM-5.3-Flash

On August 24, this paper’s Ox Alpha analysis called the free endpoint a benchmark target rather than a production dependency because its provider was unnamed. Z.ai has now identified Ox Alpha as GLM-5.3-Flash and published the model card and weights, a 320B-parameter model with 18B active parameters, as detailed in Z.ai’s release announcement. The verdict moves on provenance—this is now an auditable open-weight candidate—but holds on production use until independent evaluations, a stable service path, and data-handling evidence exist.
