AWS adds 2M NVIDIA GPUs for 2027–28
AWS and NVIDIA will deploy 2 million additional GPUs across AWS’s global infrastructure in 2027–2028, after demand exceeded the earlier plan for more than 1 million chips beginning in 2026. The companies’ joint announcement says the new fleet includes Blackwell Ultra, Rubin, and Rubin Ultra systems, plus 100,000 GPUs for secure U.S. government AI factories. For teams budgeting long-lived training, the disclosed pipeline now exceeds 3 million accelerators through 2028; compare that scale with India’s $40M-per-megawatt Rubin build before assuming a local cluster will beat cloud availability.
