Dataminr lands a $318M defense contract
Dataminr says it won a five-year U.S. Department of Defense contract worth more than $318 million while launching First Alert Advanced, an agentic system that verifies events across more than 1 million public data sources. In Dataminr’s announcement, the company says the award covers situational awareness, force protection, and global-event warnings for U.S. military organizations. Builders should file the pairing away: defense buyers are paying for continuously updated intelligence, not just a chatbot—an extension of the routing-and-guardrails pattern in Microsoft’s small-model cyber defense stack.
