LAION opens 80M-video research dataset

LAION released BVD with 80 million videos totaling 10 million hours, plus 55 million annotated clips and 300 million frames. The research paper and project page report models trained on BVD beat InternVid by up to 2.1 percentage points on video-text benchmarks, but the dataset is research-only; builders assessing open-weight adoption’s 6% denominator should treat it as a training-data option, not a commercial drop-in.
