OpenAI cuts Cursor model access on Nov. 12
OpenAI plans to end its model-supply contract with SpaceX-owned Cursor on November 12, 2026, after Cursor’s $60 billion acquisition closed earlier this month, Reuters reports via CNA. OpenAI says it cannot be confident SpaceX will use its technology within its terms of service, while Anthropic plans to increase compute for Claude in Cursor. Teams with Cursor in the production path should inventory which editor features depend on OpenAI models and test an alternate provider before the proposed cutoff, extending the archive’s analysis of SpaceX turning Cursor into a developer distribution layer.
