VZVC will make five bets with AI agents

VZVC, Vijay Pande’s two-person biotech-and-AI venture firm, plans roughly five concentrated investments a year instead of 30 and says its AI agents removed the need to hire associates. TechCrunch’s interview reports Pande previously managed close to $4 billion at a16z; the new firm uses agents for day-to-day investment work while focusing on healthcare delivery and clinical trials. Builders should file this as a live test of agentic knowledge work at the selection layer, alongside Accel’s $3.5B fundraise, not as proof that fewer investors make better bets.
