Kiro Crew opens after 39,000 Amazon builders

Amazon open-sourced Kiro Crew after more than 39,000 Amazon builders adopted it in under six months, with nearly 500 contributors shipping 597 updates at an average 143 weekly commits. Kiro’s launch post says the workspace runs multiple coding agents across sessions, schedules, and tools, with a sandbox, denied-by-default commands, credential redaction, and signed audit logs. Builders evaluating persistent agent workflows that carry skills and memory across sessions now have an inspectable orchestration layer to test locally, though Kiro CLI remains required at launch.
