AMD puts Saudi AI capacity on a 1GW path
AMD, Cisco, and HUMAIN say Saudi Arabia’s live MI355X deployment is the first step toward up to 1 gigawatt of AI infrastructure by 2030, with a 250-megawatt expansion planned from 2027. AMD’s announcement says production GPU-as-a-service is already serving customers, while the next phase will use MI400 GPUs, EPYC CPUs, Cisco Silicon One networking, and ROCm. Builders weighing sovereign or regional capacity should file the split: production exists now, but most of the scale remains a forward-looking plan rather than contracted usable capacity, alongside the archive’s account of data-center grid constraints.
