Google opens TimesFM-3 — but not for production

Google Research released TimesFM-3, a 330-million-parameter foundation model trained on more than 1 trillion time points for multivariate forecasting. Its official release says it ranks first among pretrained foundation models on GIFT-Eval, FEV-Bench, and TIME; the model card and license limit the weights to non-commercial, non-production use. Builders forecasting demand, finance, or operations can benchmark its cross-series inputs, but should file it beside the archive’s open-weight adoption denominator rather than mistake downloadable weights for deployable rights.
