Alexa+ becomes free for Prime members

Amazon made Alexa+ available to every U.S. customer, bundling unlimited access into Prime and pricing unlimited non-Prime use at $19.99 per month, according to Amazon’s launch breakdown. A free, limited chat tier remains available without Prime, while Amazon says customers interacted with Alexa+ more than twice as much overall during early access. For builders, this is a distribution test: Apple’s delayed Siri bet now faces a mass-market assistant that treats subscription bundling—not model novelty—as its acquisition channel.
