Cerebras locks 165MW in Finnish AI campus
Cerebras Systems and Compute Nordic Finland announced a Mikkeli, Finland, AI data centre that scales from an initial 50 MW phase already under construction to 165 MW of contracted IT capacity through seven-year service orders. The company’s September 1 release puts full-scale regional investment at €1.0–1.7 billion and estimates 80–250 permanent direct jobs, while flagging those figures as forward-looking. For builders, a seven-year capacity order is another sign that frontier compute is being pre-booked as infrastructure rather than bought as interchangeable cloud supply; the archive’s compute-cost-per-megawatt analysis tracks why that distinction matters.
