Anthropic says commerce agents lift carts 35%
Anthropic says retailers running its shopping agents saw carts up to 35% larger and shoppers 60% more likely to complete a purchase, figures in its commerce-agents announcement. The company has also published an open commerce-agent blueprint covering shopping, merchant workflows, skills, tool contracts and approval controls, but the lift is company-reported rather than an independent benchmark. Teams considering agentic checkout should compare those claims with Anthropic’s cache economics for long-running agents and measure completed orders—not demo conversations—before copying the pattern.
