AI BioDesign starts with $95M open-science bet
AI BioDesign launched with $95 million to combine AI, large-scale experiments, and open science across the Allen Institute, University of Washington, and Fred Hutch Cancer Center. The UW announcement of the AI BioDesign accelerator says its team will release models, datasets, assays, and tools while using experiments to train the next design cycle. Biotech builders should file this beside the wet-lab pilot for AI drug discovery: this is platform funding and reusable biology infrastructure, not evidence that a new therapy works yet.
