Cisco patches seven IOS XR flaws found with AI

Cisco disclosed seven IOS XR vulnerabilities found during internal testing that included frontier AI models, with two flaws receiving the maximum 9.8 CVSS score. Its September security advisory says the issues were not known to be actively exploited, fixed software is available, and no workaround covers them. Operators running IOS XR should file this as an AI-assisted discovery signal—not an AI breach—and test the fixed releases against the growing cost of security debt.
