Docusign opens its agreement layer to AI agents

Docusign will open its Model Context Protocol server to every AI agent on September 30, making agreement intelligence and governed actions callable from Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Slack, and any MCP client, the company’s announcement says. Docusign says its platform serves 1.9 million customers and more than one billion people across 180 countries; distribution is real, but release language is not evidence that agents can safely send or sign contracts without human approval. Builders should prepare scopes, approval gates, and audit logs before that date, extending the archive’s case for stateless MCP infrastructure into agreement workflows.
