GitHub opens GPT-6 Astra across Copilot

OpenAI’s Astra was presented as a restricted capability tier after crossing its first Critical cybersecurity rating; GitHub now lists GPT-6 Astra on 10 Copilot surfaces for Pro+, Max, Business, and Enterprise users. This is a new distribution fact, not an independent capability test: the September 2 analysis argued that access control was part of Astra’s product design, and this update weakens that call for coding workloads while leaving cyber-specific restrictions unresolved. Builders can test the model through Copilot, but the earlier Astra scorecard remains the right baseline until GitHub or OpenAI publish usage limits and independent safety evidence.
