Singapore licenses data centers from 3 MW

Singapore introduced its Digital Infrastructure Bill for First Reading on September 8, putting data centers with at least 3 MW of critical IT load under licensing and reserving security and resilience rules for facilities at least 10 MW and cloud providers with S$100 million in average annual Singapore revenue. MDDI’s bill summary says the first requirements include facility-level energy-efficiency rules and incident reporting; Parliament has not passed the bill. The threshold belongs beside the archive’s $40M-per-megawatt AI-capacity analysis: operators planning Singapore capacity should price PUE, resilience, and future water rules before locking the site design.
