South Korea plans free AI for all by year-end

South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT plans to launch AI for All, a free, unlimited general-purpose chatbot and public-service agent, with 512 Nvidia B200 GPUs supporting this year’s rollout. The ministry’s announcement says participating services must use sovereign Korean models for at least 50% of service and domestic models from other companies for 30%, with beta targeted for late September and full rollout by year-end. Builders tracking sovereign AI infrastructure and its cost should treat it as a state-backed distribution experiment: model access may be free, but public-agent accountability and prompt-data rules become part of product design.
