Besxar raises $14M for orbital chip fabs

Besxar has raised almost $14 million, including a $9 million seed round, to prototype orbital semiconductor fabs across a dozen SpaceX flights. TechCrunch’s report says two fabships already flew on a July Starlink mission, despite a flight-data-system malfunction in one canister, and the company is targeting hundreds then thousands of wafers as launch economics improve. For compute builders, Intel’s $20B financing test is the established-earth contrast: orbital fabrication is still a materials experiment, but it puts cleanroom and return-transport costs on AI chip supply-chain watchlists.
