Claude Max lawsuit backs the quota verdict

On August 31, our Claude Code pricing call was that Anthropic had cut effective weekly capacity while leaving Max’s $100 and $200 sticker prices unchanged. An expanded class action now alleges the marketing made Claude Max’s 5x and 20x usage claims misleading because each multiplier applies to rolling five-hour sessions constrained by a weekly allowance, according to The Verge’s account of the filing. New legal risk adds disclosure pressure, but it does not move the call: builders should still model Max as a quota, not a monthly capacity guarantee.
