DOE puts AI power security on September 16 agenda

DOE has opened a request for information on securing the U.S. bulk-power system, explicitly citing data-center and AI growth as reasons reliable electricity now carries greater national-security weight. The Federal Register notice gives respondents 30 days after publication and schedules a public webinar for September 16; it is an RFI, not a proposed rule. AI builders should file supply-chain provenance, firmware, remote-access, and replacement lead times with their power plans, alongside the archive’s $40M-per-megawatt capacity benchmark.
