Google commits €13B to Finnish AI infrastructure
Google says it will invest €13 billion in Finnish digital infrastructure, clean-energy projects, and economic partnerships over 2027–2028, its largest single investment in Europe. Its Finland AI infrastructure announcement projects more than 37,000 construction-phase jobs and €3.6 billion in annual GDP contribution, alongside a 22-year agreement supporting the Loviisa nuclear plant and a 94-megawatt battery. Builders should file the signal beside Mistral’s sovereign-inference cost ledger: frontier capacity is being bought with grid, training, and local-industry commitments, not servers alone.
