NIST opens AI data-center security draft
NIST is inviting public comment on draft SP 800-239, an AI data-center security analysis whose comment window closes September 25, according to NIST’s notice on the draft. It compares purpose-built AI infrastructure with high-performance computing across architecture, hardware, software, workflows, and storage, then maps threats and possible safeguards for training and inference environments. For operators, this is a standards signal rather than a rule: put security controls in the capacity-design review now, beside the archive’s analysis of AI data-center power exposure.
