Microsoft plans 38 GW of data centers by 2032

Microsoft reportedly plans to grow its owned-and-leased data-center footprint from roughly 12 GW today to more than 38 GW by 2032, Financial News reports. About one-third of future capacity would support AI-specific chips, but the roadmap comes from Bloomberg sources rather than a Microsoft commitment. For builders planning around cloud availability, Google’s €13B Finland data-center bet is a useful companion: AI capacity is becoming a power-and-lease constraint before it becomes an API feature.
