OpenAI puts company data behind an agent

OpenAI introduced a Data agent for ChatGPT Work that connects 7 named data sources—including Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Redshift, MongoDB, Google Drive, and SharePoint—to natural-language analysis, dashboards, and approved actions, the official OpenAI Community announcement says. It also lists 4 BI tools—Power BI, Tableau, Sigma, and ThoughtSpot—and says existing table-, row-, and column-level permissions apply. For enterprise teams, this is a connector-and-governance test rather than a chatbot upgrade: measure whether the agent preserves metric definitions and permissions before scaling enterprise AI deployment capacity.
