AI pathology cuts breast-risk turnaround to 1.9 days

PreciseBreast, an AI pathology tool, returned breast-cancer recurrence scores in 1.9 days versus 6.9 days for Oncotype DX in a 50-patient pilot. The Scientific Reports study estimated costs at $1,500 versus $4,620, but agreement with Oncotype DX was only fair (κ=0.25) and with RSClin slight (κ=0.06–0.084); results did not influence treatment. Clinical-AI builders should treat speed and price as workflow wins, not a replacement claim: AMIE’s clinical-evidence gate shows external outcomes—not turnaround—decide whether a model can move into care.
