Google.org awards $30M to 15 AI government projects

Google.org awarded $30 million to 15 organizations selected from more than 2,600 proposals for AI tools aimed at public services; Google’s announcement says recipients will get an accelerator and open-source blueprints. Projects cover emergency response, health, transit, tax filing, and infrastructure, making the grant a seedbed for reusable public-sector patterns rather than another closed demo. Govtech builders should watch those blueprints and contract requirements alongside the federal-versus-state AI rulebook fight.
