Expanse raises $5.3M to cut AI GPU waste
Expanse raised a $5.3 million seed round led by Crane Venture Partners for software that predicts GPU, CPU, memory, and runtime needs before an AI workload runs, the company says in its funding announcement. In one production deployment, it identified nearly $8 million of idle compute in a single month while keeping code and telemetry inside the customer environment. Teams considering another GPU purchase should first test pre-run sizing against their own idle capacity, as the archive’s analysis of Figure’s $3.5 billion compute commitment shows why capacity promises do not equal usable infrastructure.
