Google Home opens its $20 agent gateway
Google Home opened its Home MCP server to third-party agents behind Premium Advanced, a tier priced at $20 a month or $200 a year, The Verge reports. Google’s official documentation says connected agents can inspect device state and event history and issue controls, while rate limits and a block on sensitive actions such as unlocking doors remain in place. Builders extending stateless MCP into real-world tools should treat home control as a consent, identity, and replay-safety boundary—not another connector demo.
