Huawei targets one million processors in one AI computer
Huawei announced Peerium, an AI computing architecture designed to make one million processors work as one computer; its first-generation Atlas 950 SuperCluster has 256,000 cards already being deployed. Huawei’s announcement names UnifiedBus as the open-protocol interconnect spanning CPUs, NPUs, memory, SSDs, NICs and switches, while Atlas 960 remains under testing. For infrastructure buyers, the signal is architectural: compare interconnect, memory addressing and scaling claims—not just accelerator TOPS—against Cornelis’s utilization case for active AI fabrics before treating a bigger cluster as more useful compute.
