AI screens 100M catalyst structures
ENEOS says Matlantis PFP and NVIDIA ALCHEMI screened about 100 million oxygen-evolution-reaction catalyst structures, narrowing a discovery process that traditionally took years to a few months. The announcement says the workflow identified candidates for synthesis and experimental validation and that Matlantis supports all 96 chemical elements, but it does not report how many candidates survived lab tests. Materials teams should treat this as a screening-throughput signal—not proof of a production catalyst—and keep wet-lab validation in the loop, much as the archive’s Genscript–Tamarind pilot treats AI biology as an experiment rather than a lab replacement.
