Joby flies 3,199 miles without pilot input
Joby Aviation completed a fully autonomous 3,199-mile U.S. flight with zero control inputs from its onboard safety pilot, remotely supervised from as far as 2,323 miles, according to Joby’s flight report. The converted Cessna Caravan has now accumulated more than 400 flights and 800 automated hours, but this remains a company demonstration rather than air-taxi certification. Robotics teams can file it beside Neura’s industrialization clock: autonomy is moving from model demos toward logged operations on certified hardware, while safety and regulation remain the gate.
