RAND counts 713 AI incidents in insurance warning
RAND’s new report puts 713 incidents in the AI Incident Database and roughly 250 U.S. lawsuits in the risk ledger; Verisk/ISO forms used in more than 80% of U.S. property-and-casualty policies now offer optional generative-AI exclusions, The Register reports. The underlying incident database shows why generic liability coverage is hard to price: categories overlap and include hallucinations, privacy leaks and autonomous failures. Builders should treat insurance wording as a deployment constraint—not paperwork—and compare it with the EU AI Act enforcement timeline before putting agents in customer-facing workflows.
