Huawei opens 10,000-NPU compute to developers
Huawei opened 10,000-NPU-scale compute resources to Ascend partners and developers at HUAWEI CONNECT 2026, alongside a 100 NPU-hour program for every developer and a CNY5 billion ecosystem investment over three years. Huawei’s agentic-computing announcement says the program will support model training, inference, and open-source ecosystem work. For teams evaluating sovereign hardware, this is a developer-acquisition subsidy—not proof of production parity—so benchmark Ascend before treating free hours as a migration signal, especially alongside Huawei’s still-limited global AICS rollout.
