iPronics starts a two-year GPU-network test

iPronics and Barcelona Supercomputing Center started a two-year collaboration to test programmable optical switching inside BSC’s GPU and HPC infrastructure, according to the company’s collaboration announcement. The release says iPronics’s recent $125 million Series B brought total funding to $177 million, but this project is still a research integration rather than proof of production GPU gains. Builders scaling training or mixture-of-experts workloads should file it as network-layer R&D and demand utilization, latency, and energy comparisons against their current fabric, extending NVIDIA’s photonic-switch analysis.
