Kairos Power gets $100M reactor backing

Kairos Power and Samsung C&T signed a binding term sheet worth up to $100 million for the 50-MWe Hermes 2 demonstration reactor in Tennessee, which Kairos says sits under a multi-plant development agreement with Google. Kairos’s announcement says the package combines direct investment and in-kind engineering services, subject to regulatory approvals; TechCrunch’s report adds the hyperscaler context. AI infrastructure buyers should file this as evidence that dependable power is being financed and built alongside model capacity, not added after the rack order. It extends the archive’s warning that AI’s power bill is already reaching ratepayers.
