Schneider models 53% less AI cooling water
Schneider Electric’s modeled 100 MW AI data-center designs cut on-site cooling-water use by 48% in Dallas and 53% in Paris when optimized liquid cooling replaced an air-cooled design. The company’s Climate Week announcement gives the modeled baselines: Dallas falls from roughly 382,000 to 197,000 cubic meters annually, while Paris falls from 108,000 to 51,000. Operators should treat this as a site-design input, not an operating-facility guarantee: cooling architecture and heat rejection now belong beside megawatts in infrastructure reviews, extending the power bottleneck described in AI data centers’ grid fast lane.
