Cognex agrees to buy RealSense for $500M
Cognex agreed to buy RealSense for approximately $500 million in cash, adding depth-sensing cameras and robotic-perception technology to its industrial machine-vision business. In Cognex’s acquisition announcement, the company says RealSense’s market is about $600 million today and could reach $1.6 billion by 2030, while RealSense expects $80–90 million in 2026 revenue. Builders shipping robots should file this as a supplier-consolidation signal, then keep qualifying perception hardware independently; NEURA’s factory-partner timeline shows why a named industrial partner is not yet a delivery guarantee.
