Nexstrom raises $12M for 2D chip tools
Singapore startup Nexstrom raised a $12 million seed round, taking total funding to $15 million, to build North Star equipment that grows two-dimensional semiconductors directly on 300mm wafers. TechCrunch’s report on the financing says the company has proven material results on a newly installed 12-inch system but expects commercial-production equipment only between 2030 and 2035. Chip teams should file this as a long-horizon supply-chain option—not near-term capacity relief—and keep the archive’s memory-driven server-price analysis in view when budgeting today’s scarce components.
