Bird.com raises $450M in debt for AI communications
Bird.com completed a $450 million debt financing—$400 million term loan plus a $50 million revolver—as it launched an Agentic Harness for AI communications. In its financing and platform announcement, Bird says 2025 EBITDA reached $165 million and headcount fell from more than 1,000 at its peak to 120 after automation; the transaction is a dividend recapitalization, so it supplies shareholder liquidity rather than growth capital. Builders considering communications infrastructure should test delivery, consent, and pricing evidence instead of treating debt capacity or a smaller workforce as proof of agent reliability; the archive’s AI-employees cost analysis makes the same distinction.
