MedGemma passes 10M downloads

Google says its open-weight MedGemma models have passed 10 million downloads, while Dawa Health’s offline DawaMom app has screened more than 3,500 women and India’s Visilant more than 50,000 patients. Google’s global-health update says Indonesia is also developing a MedGemma-based tuberculosis tool aimed at 50 million annual screenings, but these are deployment and target figures, not clinical validation. Health builders can keep patient data and adaptation local with open weights, while AI clinical products still need an evidence gate before screening claims become care decisions.
