UpGuard finds 16,326 exposed Supabase databases

UpGuard found 16,326 Supabase databases with readable tables after examining roughly 300,000 domains, and more than half showed indicators of personally identifiable information, the research firm reports. TechCrunch’s account says the exposure is concentrated in misconfigured apps, including projects built with AI coding tools. Teams shipping agent-built products should make database-policy tests part of deployment, extending Supabase’s agent regression loop beyond feature behavior.
