UCLA wins $25M to test dementia AI
UCLA Health received a five-year, $25 million National Institute on Aging grant to lead a national effort evaluating AI tools for Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, according to UCLA Health’s announcement. The program will work with Mayo Clinic and the University of Wisconsin across diverse populations and care settings, then share evaluation methods and safety standards; it is validation infrastructure, not proof that any named tool works. Teams building clinical agents should keep Enveda’s clinical-capital evidence gate beside this grant: procurement increasingly needs prospective testing, not only model demos.
