Kodiak targets driverless freight on 219-mile lane
Kodiak AI is targeting unsupervised driverless service on a 219-mile Dallas–Houston freight lane by year-end, after reporting more than 3.5 million autonomous miles. Its September 25 launch announcement says the long-haul safety case was 93% complete at the end of August and that 40,000 hours of paid driverless operations had accumulated by June 30; both are company-reported milestones, not independent certification. Physical-AI operators should file the route-specific evidence alongside AstroForge’s shadow-mode autonomy test: a target launch date is not proof that a safety case closes.
