Engram puts a $675 offline AI sampler on Kickstarter

Thoughtful Things launched Engram, an offline AI sampler and groovebox, with Kickstarter pledges starting at $675, according to The Verge’s report on the local “tiny AI” instrument. Engram runs custom-trained audio models without an internet connection, and its maker plans to open the firmware so users can load or modify models. For creative-tool builders, Meta’s camera-free glasses price cut points to the same hardware question from another angle: $675 buys an experimental local-AI surface, not a general-purpose edge platform.
